Our Civil Air Patrol unit in Merrimack County needs an adult volunteer to help with coordinating, organizing, and tracking supplies and property for the local youth who participate in the program.  This critical need will enable our program to run more efficiently and better serve local youth.

Civil Air Patrol volunteers help coordinate supplies for running a CAP Cadet Program activity

Volunteer Title:  Logistics Officer
Time Commitment:  Available at least one or two Thursday evenings a month (during the weekly cadet training meetings, 6:30  to 9pm, at the Army National Guard Armory in Concord)
Age Requirement: 18+

Duties:

  • Issue and track uniforms and supplies issued to cadets.
  • Update the unit’s property tracking system and help submit inventory reports to our headquarters when required.
  • Help organize the unit’s supply storage area.  (This can be done at the volunteer’s convenience and does not need to be done on Thursday nights)
  • Optionally choose to mentor a cadet assistant logistics officer.

Requirements to become a Civil Air Patrol member:

  • Be willing to apply for membership in Civil Air Patrol, including submitting a fingerprint card for background check (due to the organization’s close work with youth) and receiving some initial orientation training for our members.
  • Civil Air Patrol members are uniformed volunteers; Be willing to wear a Civil Air Patrol uniform or branded polo shirt while at cadet activities.  (Much of the uniform will be supplied to volunteers)
  • Submit annual dues to the Civil Air Patrol national headquarters of approximately $50, which covers training materials, liability coverage during CAP activities, cost of the background check, membership benefits, and other member services.
