Administrative Support Volunteer

Civil Air Patrol volunteer

Civil Air Patrol volunteers receive regular recognition for their service to the community

Civil Air Patrol needs assistance with administering its community youth programs in the Merrimack County area. Civil Air Patrol’s cadet program, aerospace education and emergency services missions are carried out 100% by volunteers.

The Concord Squadron needs administrative assistance in managing youth’s records of progress in the program, helping proctor, correct and record tests given to the youth, and maintaining our volunteers personnel files. Your volunteering for this need will help the youth program run more efficiently, keep better track of each cadet’s progress, and allow the volunteers who do leadership training and mentoring to have more interactive time with the cadets.    The administrative support volunteer would be expected to help out, on average, once a week or every other week for a couple of hours – ideally Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 9pm. Most of the work will need to be done in the organization’s spaces at the NH Army National Guard Armory in Concord  If your availability and interest permits, there are additional opportunities to volunteer more hours.

Civil Air Patrol volunteers not only enable one of America’s oldest and most successful youth leadership programs to help local Merrimack County teens achieve more in life, but they also receive regular recognition from the community as well as the Air Force for their volunteerism and service.  Awards for service, longevity, and professional development are regularly given to our volunteers, who take a sense of pride in the work they do with CAP.

Civil Air Patrol would provide any necessary on-the-job training and offer opportunities to participate in CAP’s other activities, training, or missions if desired.

The Requirements

  • Be at least 18-years-old.  There is no maximum age to volunteer with Civil Air Patrol.
  • Be willing to submit a fingerprint card, which allows us to check the suitability of our volunteers to work in close proximity with youth.
  • Be willing to wear a Civil Air Patrol uniform (provided) or a CAP polo shirt and commercial grey slacks or skirt.  Our uniforms help present a professional appearance to the cadets and serve as a reminder of our heritage to the Air Force.
  • Be willing to volunteer at least two Thursday nights per month, between 7 and 9pm, at the Concord Army National Guard Armory.
